There is an unknown island in the middle Mediterranean, 96 kms. from Almeria, 55 kms from Melilla, it's elongated in shape and 600 meters length, situated at 35º 56'29"N - 3º 02'10" W.

It's surface is volcanic and exceeds eight hectares, it was known in ancient times by pirates and corsairs.

Today in the southern part of the island there is a automatic lighthouse in a ruined building square, there is also a heliport and a cemetery with three graves.

There are many underground caves.

The first of October 1540, over its waters was a battle, where the Spanish galleys defeated the Berber pirates.

On the island they nest a large number of birds and the surrounding sea area is full of fish.

It has no inhabitants, but the Spanish naval forces visit it often to patrol the area.

In the northern, 100 meters from the main island there is a small islet called Cloud Is.
